Austrian Transitional Style 30 Day Vienna Regulator
The transitional style of Vienna regulators yielded an elegant blend of simplicity and extravagance. This beautiful example was finely crafted in a sleek case with a grain-painted rosewood finish. A carved crest atop centers the molded cornice over a sleek case subtlely embellished with bullseye rosettes and finials, and concluding with a shapely drop pediment.
Keeping the time is a single-weight movement designed to run for an impressive 30 days on one wind. This regulator has a wood pendulum rod with brass bob as well as a beat scale. The time displays on a two-piece white porcelain dial with Roman numerals, blued steel beetle & poker hands, and framed with spun brass bezels.
This Austrian wall clock is a lovely example of the era and its refined aesthetics, masterful craftsmanship, and precision mechanics. It will make a wonderful addition to any collection and suit myriad decors as a tribute to design, and horology. And finally, this timepiece bears a full restoration and a one-year warranty.
