American Victorian Wall Clock
This handsome American Victorian timepiece dates to the early 1880s. The case is crafted in walnut that has a lovely rich patina and features clean lines accented with a carved crest and base, applied carved leaf embellishments, bull’s-eye rosettes, and round flame-topped half-columns flanking the center glass panel.
Keeping the time within is an eight-day spring-driven movement that strikes the hour and half-hour on a tuned gong. Regulating the time is a wood pendulum rod with a brass bob that has a nice dimensional detail. The time displays on a painted dial appointed with Roman numerals and Maltese cross hands. This American Victorian wall clock also bears a full restoration and a one-year warranty.
