Art Deco Arch Top Mantel Clock
A unique Art Deco mantel clock made by S. Smith & Sons, Ltd. of England. Smiths was a jeweler that gained notability for their precision engineering of timepieces. The company evolved and grew to be an important supplier of precision components for the burgeoning motor vehicle industry.
This fabulous Art Deco clock features a dramatic ground of green crushed velour within a frame of brass. The arch top frame is embellished with conforming curved bands and contrasted by straight rows of scrolled bands. A beveled glass facia is fitted to the front of the clock with applied quarter-hour markers adding dimension. An 8-day manual wind movement keeps the time which displays on silvered Roman numerals and tapered hands.
This rare and wonderful timepiece also bears a full restoration and a one-year warranty. A must-have for the Art Deco enthusiast and an impressive addition to various decor.
