French Corinthian Case Carriage Clock
A lovely French carriage clock dating to the 1880s in a classical-style brass case. Distinctively appointed with Corinthian columns and capitals at all four corners, a conforming carry handle, and beveled glass on all sides.
Keeping the time within is an 8-day movement equipped with the original jeweled balance wheel lever escapement platform. A pleasing gong strike marks the hours and half-hours, while a press of the button atop activates the repeat-at-will function which will strike the preceding hour. The time displays on a porcelain chapter ring with Arabic numerals and Breguet-style hands, and a small porcelain alarm dial is situated immediately below. The dials are centered amid a wonderful silvered and foliate engraved dial mask. The aesthetic contrast of the brass and silver emanates an alluring presentation.
This impressive carriage clock also bears a full restoration and a one-year warranty.
