Swiss Atmos Perpetual Motion Clock By Jaeger-LeCoultre

Jaeger-LeCoultre first perfected and presented this avant-garde timepiece in the late 1920s, and the desire to own them is as perpetual as the movements themselves. The Atmos clock ever portrays, with elegance, the mastery of science and mechanics.

This fine example dates to 1970 in a gilt brass case and the requisite glass panels. Powered by an 11-jewel movement with a torsion pendulum driven by changes in atmospheric pressure as a mixture of gasses contract and expand. The time displays on a white enamel chapter ring with sword and Arabic numeral hour markers, and sword hands.
