American Galusha Maranville Calendar Clock

This great-looking calendar wall clock dates to the early 1870’s and was produced by the Gilbert Clock Company of Winsted, Connecticut. At the time, calendar clocks were fairly novel and Galusha Maranville was granted a patent for this design. Presented in a very nice octagonal short-drop case crafted of rosewood and with a decorative églomisé door panel. The time, day, and month are indicated on an eye-catching 3-dial system fitted with large Breguet-style clock hands and a contrasting red crescent calendar hand. Within, an 8-day mechanical pendulum movement keeps the time and strikes a gong at the hour and half-hour. Further, this fantastic clock bears a full restoration and a one-year warranty.
