Spanish Sculpture Of A Young Boy Pitching Pennies

This charming bronze sculpture captures a moment of everyday life in the form of a young boy playing a game of pitching pennies. The endearing youngster is rendered with his arm outstretched and poised in motion. The effect is a wonderful sense of movement and storytelling. The artist accomplishes amazing realism in depicting the folds in the boy’s clothes, posture, and the expression and angles of his face in exceptional detail.

This delightful bronze bears the signature, J. Carcano with a foundry mark from Casa Bellas Artes Institute in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Jose Carcano was a Spanish artist who flourished in the late 19th and early 20th century.
