Late Victorian Sterling Silver Fusee Pocket Watch by Clement Cheese

Elegant, substantial, and beautifully crafted, this English sterling silver pocket watch represents the final generation of the traditional fusee timekeepers, which were known for their consistent power delivery and reliability. Housed in a finely engraved sterling case, the watch features ornate foliate patterns and a medallion framed in soft gold, all executed with the refined detailing characteristic of late 19th-century English craftsmanship.

Inside, the original silver dial is a work of art in its own right. Applied gold Roman numerals encircle an engraved center, and elegant blued-steel hands display the time.

The watch is powered by a 7-jewel key-wind, key-set fusee movement, with a serial number of 5617. The case bears English hallmarks attributed to watchmaker Clement Cheese.

A distinguished example for both seasoned and new collectors of antique horology, this pocket watch offers both mechanical heritage and decorative artistry, preserving the charm of England’s fine late-Victorian watchmaking traditions.

This watch has undergone a complete restoration and comes with a one-year warranty.
