This marvelously designed French secretary abattant dates to the first half of the 1880s. Crafted of rich Brazilian rosewood, the piece features a beautiful and hypnotic burl grain. Simple yet refined carvings adorn the secretary’s exterior borders and interior corners in a showcase of skilled craftsmanship. The drop front opens to reveal an elegant tooled leather writing surface for adding versatility and function.
Within, the fitted interior is skillfully constructed with a set of nine luxurious and bright satinwood drawers. A mirrored back and shelf above creates the perfect compact space for hidden display or storage.
