English Four Glass Case Chain-Driven Fusee Mantel Clock

This outstanding early English fusee mantel clock is charming in style and size. Encased in richly colored Honduran mahogany, gadrooned borders, a fluted top, and a wave form base accentuate the case with an elegant shape, while beveled glass panels surround the clock on all sides. In lovely contrast to the case’s deep color, the clock face displays the time on a shining engraved gilt brass Roman numeral dial. Elaborate scrollwork engravings decorate the dial mask and center, which bears the maker’s signature Walker, 230 Regent St London.

Powering the clock is a high-grade movement with an early oversized and jeweled balance wheel platform escapement and maintaining power on a chain-driven fusee. The maker’s signature appears a second time on the bedplate, reading John Walker London.

This wonderfully sophisticated clock bears a complete restoration and a one-year warranty.
