French Early One-Piece Case Carriage Clock

This lovely carriage clock presents in a one-piece gilt brass case with beveled glass on all sides and an escapement viewing window atop. The sleek one-piece molded case was labor-intensive to craft and is a unique characteristic of early 19th-century carriage clocks. This clock is stamped on the underside by the case maker L. Lange and numbered 852.

Keeping the time within is an eight-day movement with petite sonnerie strike on two bells at the quarter hours. It also has alarm and repeat-at-will features. The time displays on a crisp white porcelain dial with Roman numerals and trefoil hands. Arranged beneath the time dial are day, month, and date dials. The serial number for the movement of this clock, 5298, is stamped on the movement plate and on the underside.

In addition to its elegant and enduring appeal, this carriage clock bears a full restoration and a one-year warranty.
