American Art Nouveau Lamp with Steuben Art Glass Shade
This beautiful period lamp portrays the essence of the treasured Art Nouveau era. Crafted of heavy cast brass in a graceful form with gentle curves and a beautiful Steuben art glass shade. The base features characteristic natural foliate and floral embellishments terminating in acanthus leaves draping over the light socket. A gold Aurene ribbed glass shade by Steuben lends a mesmerizing iridescence that emits a pleasing glow whether the light is on or off. Steuben Glass Works first became known for its colored glassware; and the prized Aurene finish was developed in 1904 soon after the company was established.
This wonderful lighting fixture and collector’s item has been restored and rewired. It is ideally suited to a myriad of uses such as a table, desk, or piano lamp.
