American Rare Storage Cabinet and Stand for the Edison Phonograph

This marvelous cabinetry piece was created for the Edison Phonograph and storage of its cylinder records. A rarity as a beautiful round case. Skillfully crafted in oak and nicely styled with a central sleek Corinthian column supported on a ball foot. Foliate carvings embellish the top of each cabinet door. Upon opening, the interior is cleverly designed so the storage shelves alternately slide apart with the doors, allowing for excellent visibility and easy access to the cylinders. The shelves are also fitted with holders to accommodate an impressive 200 cylinders. Overall the case is in excellent condition and bears a lovely rich patina.
