American Regina 15 1/2″ Disc Music Box
This wonderful Regina 15 1/2″ disc music box comes in an attractive mahogany case. The rich color and fine grain of the wood is accented with delicate boxwood inlays. Turned columns are inset to the four corners, and the domed lid is embellished with beadwork.
With the flick of a lever, the double comb spring wound mechanism within creates the musical magic playing 15 1/2″ discs. The double comb movement provides greater musical output by striking twice as many notes. Further, the 15 1/2″ Regina disc was and still is the size that is most widely available and includes over 1,000 titles available on newly produced discs.
The renowned Regina Music Box Company distinguished itself as the foremost American manufacturer of the disc music box in the late 19th and early 20th century. This beautiful example bears a complete restoration, a one-year warranty, and a selection of six antique discs.
