American Reginaphone Combination Player, Style 240

The Reginaphone holds a remarkable place in the evolution of automated live music to recorded sound. The turn of the 20th century brought with it the revolutionary introduction of recorded audio to the home. The phonograph took the world by storm, gaining popularity and quickly dominating the market of musical machines.

The Regina Music Box Company modified many disc music boxes to house a phonograph in response to this new demand. Thus, creating a design cleverly named a Reginaphone. The addition of an arm and turntable to many of their music boxes meant that households could enjoy both options. Toted by the Regina Company to be one of the most beautiful instruments they ever made, Style 240 ranked among their best-selling and most extravagant internal horn players.

This model houses Regina’s top-of-the-line 15-1/2″ double comb music box, in tandem with a Columbia phonograph. Ornate lions heads decorate the luxurious serpentine front mahogany case. Curved sliding doors allow the user to control volume to the wood phonograph horn. The cabinetry below provides plenty of space for all your records, discs, and turntable. Everything you need to enjoy home entertainment at its finest!
