English Gothic Revival Two Train Bracket Clock by Roskell of Liverpool
This distinguished English bracket clock wonderfully embodies the Gothic Revival style of the Victorian period. It was produced by the esteemed Roskell family of clock and watchmakers in Liverpool.
The richly colored oak case exudes architectural design with a central arched top surmounted by a spire finial on plinth, and flanked by conforming finials atop double columns centering the case. Ornate embellishments to the case overall include carvings, applied moldings, side frets, gadrooned trim, and quatrefoil accents. Furthermore, the clock is supported upon its original bracket.
Keeping the time within is an eight-day two-train fusée movement that strikes a bell at the hour and half-hour. The time displays on a painted dial with Roman numerals and Gothic shield and sword hands.
And finally, this beautiful English bracket clock has undergone a complete restoration and carries a one-year warranty.
