The case is skillfully crafted of mahogany with gilt line trims, honeycomb-style side frets, and raised on brass button feet. Keeping the time is an 8-day movement that marks the hour and half-hour with a pleasing gong strike. The time displays on a convex dial with painted Roman numerals, and spade and whip hands.
