French Art Nouveau Crystal Regulator Mantel Clock

This lovely crystal regulator dates to 1895 and the wonderful Art Nouveau period. The brass case is crafted in graceful dimension as the rear portion curves out beyond that of the front and is supported on all four corners with free-standing twist columns. It is embellished with cast foliate ormolu, surmounted by a large urn top, and raised on cast paw feet.

Housed within four beveled glass panels is an eight-day movement that marks the hour and half-hour with a pleasant gong strike. The pendulum-driven movement has a two-jar temperature compensating style pendulum. The time is displayed on a porcelain dial with pretty hand-painted floral swag, Arabic numerals, and fitted with fancy pierced brass hands. And finally, this beautiful French crystal regulator bears a full restoration and a one-year warranty.
