French Boulle Style Miniature Mantel Clock
A charming example of French clockmaking. This wonderful miniature mantel clock features a richly colored red tortoiseshell veneer case adorned with luxurious gilt bronze ormolu, standout characteristics of Boulle-style craftsmanship. A decorative finial surmounts the clock with further ormolu adornment creating dramatic shape and elegance. At the center of the clock rests a striking segmented cartouche porcelain dial adding depth to the clock face. Roman numerals and Arabic minute markers display the time surrounded by a delicately engraved gilt bezel.
An 8-day timepiece movement signed by Marti, Paris, powers this clock, which bears a full restoration and a one-year warranty.
