French Cast Brass Case Carriage Clock Retailed by J.E. Caldwell

Crafted with precision and adorned with exquisite detailing, this late 19th-century French carriage clock embodies the epitome of luxury and refinement.

Encased within a lustrous brass frame, the clock features beveled glass panels, each showcasing delicate depictions of nature’s beauty. Birds and dragonflies gracefully flit and flutter, their gilt lines captured upon the glass, evoking a sense of tranquility and wonder. A pierced fretwork dial mask adorns the entirety of the clock’s center, a masterpiece in its own right. Rampant lions stand guard, their regal presence below an Arabic numeral porcelain chapter ring and around an alarm dial. Gilt filigree surrounds the rest of the dial in intricate scrollwork, creating an aura of majestic grandeur.

Within lies an 8-day hour and half-hour gong strike movement, surviving with its original jeweled balance platform. With a press of a plunger, its repeat-at-will mechanism chimes the hours with harmonious precision, while an alarm feature ensures timely awakenings with its resounding strike. The J.E. Caldwell & Co. signature rests underneath the 12 o’clock. Renowned as a retailer of luxury timepieces and fine jewelry, this carriage clock bears the mark of unparalleled quality and craftsmanship J.E. Caldwell strove for, offering a glimpse into the timeless allure of the past.

This carriage clock bears a complete restoration and carries a one-year warranty.
