French Porcelain Mantel Clock by Jacob Petit

A delightful French porcelain mantel clock crafted by the renowned French ceramicist, Jacob Petit. This lovely clock exhibits the highly embellished Rococo style that inspired Petit. The scrolling and shell form case is beautifully colored and adorned with hand-painted floral bouquets and gilt. An endearing country lad and lass are perched upon each front support; she with a basket of flowers, the lad with arm outstretched offering grapes from his basket. Their attire is wonderfully detailed with finely hand-painted florals and gilt accents.

Within, an 8-day silk thread suspension movement keeps the time and marks the hour and half-hour with a bell strike. The time displays on a white porcelain dial with Roman numerals and pierced gilt hands. Further, this wonderful and artistic timepiece bears a full restoration and a one-year warranty.
