French Porcelain Mantel Clock
A lovely French porcelain mantel clock in the manner of Jacob Petit. The gracefully formed porcelain case features a garden setting with an overall palette of subtle greens and is richly accented by hand-painted and applied florals in soft coral hues. Young male and female figures are seated at each of the front corners, a courting couple perhaps. Their clothing is beautifully and very finely detailed. The lovely young female holds a basket of flowers while the young gent has his hat full.
An 8-day movement keeps the time and announces the hour and half-hour with a bell strike. A white porcelain dial with Roman numerals and stylized whip hands displays the time. Further, this charming and elegant timepiece bears a full restoration and a one-year warranty.
