French Sedan Chair Carriage Clock

This unique carriage clock takes the form of an opulent sedan chair. A rare gilt sliver dial displays the time on black Roman numerals and blued steel hands. The ornate cast repose case is crafted in silver plated bronze. Frolicking putti and ornate floral motifs decorate the case, with elaborate rococo arches meeting at a fleur de lis at the top. Beveled glass on 3 sides protect the dial, and give the viewer a glimpse at the intricacies of the clock mechanism. An 8 day movement with a platform escapement strike the hour and half hour on a tuned gong.
