German ‘Monkey Business’ Automaton Clock by Junghans
This intriguing monkey novelty clock was produced at the turn of the 20th century by famed Junghans in the Black Forest region of Germany. Expertly crafted in a painted metal case with an artistically cast front depicting a seated monkey reading a book. A 30-hour timepiece movement keeps the time and activates the monkey’s rolling eyes and mouth opening and closing. Displaying the time on a silvered dial with Arabic numerals and spade hands. The dial displays the Junghans star logo, indicating that Junghans considered the clock one of their “best make” models.
This highly collectible automaton clock has undergone a full restoration and carries a one-year warranty.
