German Open-Well Hall Clock
This magnificent German hall clock boasts a dramatic case with an intricate and impressive design. The richly colored mahogany case is wonderfully carved and embellished with cast brass ormolu throughout. Whimsical faces, cherubs, acanthus leaves, ribbons, and scrollwork all ornament the clock in exquisite detail. An elegantly styled swan’s neck pediment graces the top, ending in cast brass rosettes on either side of a decorative finial center.
The clock displays the time upon an engraved brass Roman numeral dial with pierced fretwork hands. A distinctive embossed pendulum secures an elaborate cast brass sunburst bob. Ornate turned and engraved brass weights give power to the 8-day movement, which will strike the hour and half-hour on a tuned gong.
This incredible hall clock is fully restored and carries a one-year warranty.
