German Wall Clock In Elaborate Walnut Case

This impressive German wall clock displays exceptional style and shape. The clock resides in a beautifully crafted, highly figural, book-matched walnut case. Expertly turned columns adorned with finials and carved acanthus leaf accents flank each side. Surmounting the top is a dramatic carved crest with flowing carved scrollwork and a figure of Medusa at the center.

A two-piece porcelain dial displays the time upon Roman numerals. Swaying below is a gridiron pendulum with ornate brass castings and a porcelain RA plaque at the center. Powering the clock is an 8-day movement that strikes the hour and half-hour on a tuned gong.
