This piece represents an exciting first for us at Renaissance Antiques. While we have long specialized in bringing our clients exceptional finished vintage and antique pieces, this piece marks the first time we have taken a gemstone through its own transformation, refining, reimagining, and ultimately creating a setting designed in true harmony with its stone.

Originally a remarkable emerald that had not yet reached its full potential, the stone arrived with us in a midcentury mounting that concealed much of its natural beauty. We carefully removed it from its setting and undertook a considered recutting, refining its proportions to achieve greater balance and improved light performance. The result is a gemstone that now reveals its color and character with far greater clarity and presence.

Rather than returning the stone to a conventional mount, we commissioned a setting expressly for this emerald. Crafted in 18K yellow gold, the mounting draws inspiration from classic Art Nouveau design and allows the stone itself to guide every line and contour. The result is a piece in which form flows organically, and ornament becomes inseparable from structure. The shoulders taper and unfurl with quiet elegance, while sculptural, leaf-form prongs rise to cradle the emerald, integrating seamlessly into the design and leading the eye inward to the stone.
