Rare 18K Convertible Pocket Watch by Tobias of Liverpool
This lavish and innovative 18k pocket watch dates to the mid 1800s and was crafted by Tobias of Liverpool. The piece features a rare “convertible case” design. This clever composition allows the timepiece to conform to either a hunters case or open face watch depending on direction in which the watch lays within the outer case. This gives the wearer the ability to customize the look of their timepiece with ease.
An engraved hunting scene is adorns the opulent gold outer case in beautiful detail. A high grade 10 jewel lever escapement movement with ruby pallets resides inside the lavish case. Further, the movement bears the name Tobias Liverpool #8914. A sleek porcelain dial displays Roman numerals with subsidiary seconds dial, and reads, “Time Keeper No. 8914”.
