Rare French Cast Brass and Rouge Marble Carriage Clock by J.E. Dupont
This beautiful French carriage clock has a commanding presence. It is a wonderful blend of the high-quality craftsmanship and artistry of Paris in the mid 1800’s. The clock is presented in a rare and elaborate classical column brass case, which was cast by the renowned Barbedienne Foundry. The rouge marble base adds to the visual appeal of the clock.
Additionally, the clock is powered by an 8-day lever escapement balance wheel platform movement signed by J.E. DuPont, Paris. It strikes a tuned gong at the hour and half hour, and features an alarm as well. The hand painted porcelain dial has blued steel fleur-de-lis hands, and is signed “F. Barbedienne, Paris.”
This very desirable carriage clock is restored and comes with a one year warranty.
