Rare Musical Tall Case Clock By The Regina Music Box Company

This momentous tall case clock by the Regina Music Box Company is a rare union of clockmaking and automated musical achievement. Powering this exceptional clock is a two-weight German movement with an hour and half-hour gong strike. Making this tall case clock truly exceptional is a rare musical movement in the base, crafted by the distinguished Regina Music Box Company of Rahway, New Jersey. The gong strike triggers a Regina movement to play a line of thirty hammers on a nest of fourteen saucer bells producing a marvelous melody each hour. A 12-1/8″ Regina disc governs the movement, ingeniously designed to hold six tunes. Each disc features six different quadrants allowing the clock to play a variety of melodies in sequence. The movement resides inside a specially designed acoustic sound chamber with resonance tubes between each bell to create impeccable music.

This exceptional clock resides in a beautifully rich Honduran mahogany case. The pinched waist case and swan neck pediment create a marvelous shape and an elegant silhouette. Beautiful scrollwork embellishments adorn the crown and top of the case body, adding lovely artist detail. The time displays upon a wonderful brass dial with applied Arabic numerals. Finally, cast corner spandrels and a unique hand-painted moon dial in the arch give the clock face a perfect flourish.

This rare and wonderful musical clock bears a full restoration and a one-year warranty.
