Walking Stick With Gold Filled Floral Presentation Handle

Richly ornamented and deeply personal, this late 19th-century walking stick combines decorative craftsmanship with a glimpse into the life of its original owner. The gold-filled handle is deeply engraved with flowing flowers, leaves, and scrolling foliate motifs, creating a richly textured surface that reflects the ornate taste of the period.

The top bears a presentation inscription reading, “Dr. O. Leiser From Old Timer Friends 1902.” Such presentation canes were often given to commemorate milestones, retirements, achievements, or long-standing personal relationships, making them especially appealing as objects that preserve a piece of personal history.

The decorative handle is mounted on a black lacquer shaft measuring 35.25 inches in length. Near the top remains the original leather band, an increasingly uncommon survival that adds further authenticity and period character to the piece.

Elegant in form and rich in sentiment, this walking stick serves as both a functional accessory and a tangible reminder of the relationships and traditions of a bygone era.
