European Cast Iron Pocket Watch Holder
A skillfully detailed European pocket watch holder in cast iron, dating to the late 1800s. After over 130 years, the cast iron has patinated beautifully, creating a unique two-tone coloration throughout the pocket watch holder.
The pocket watch holder features Roman military motifs depicting traditional weaponry, helmets, and primitive weapons. Numerous animals such as sheep, lions, and an eagle embellish the holder, a common practice then used to suggest symbolism and unit identity.
