American Regina 15-1/2″ Disc Music Box

Crafted at the turn of the 20th century, Regina disc music boxes are truly a delight. The Regina Music Box Company of Rahway, New Jersey, held international prestige from the 1880s to the growing popularity of the phonograph in the early 1900s. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the company distinguished itself as the foremost American manufacturer of disc music boxes and some of the best-sounding machines on the market.

This finely crafted example features a 15-1/2″ Regina disc with a 156-note short-bedplate double-comb movement, delivering rich, complex sound with beautiful resonance. The instrument resides in an elegant, serpentine mahogany case with a domed lid. This model exemplifies Regina’s quality in sound production and aesthetic appeal, making it a sought-after collector’s item.

This wonderful musical mechanical antique has undergone complete restoration, includes a one-year warranty, and comes with a selection of six antique discs. The 15 1/2″ disc was and still is the most widely available size, with hundreds of antique discs and over 1,000 titles available on newly produced discs.
