Art Deco Pocket Watch by Illinois Watch Company

This Art Deco pocket watch is a wonderful collaboration by two American companies, Illinois Watch Company and Star Watch Case Company. Produced by Illinois with works housed in a sleek hexagonal case provided by Star. An Art Deco and horological treasure that exemplifies characteristics of the era.

The 14K white gold-filled case is artfully designed with soft angles and embellished with engraved trim. The reverse is engraved with the initials ‘RC’. Keeping the time within is a 21-jewel movement adjusted to 3 positions. The time displays on a handsome silvered dial with center decorative engraving, gold stylized Arabic numerals, and blued steel kite hands.

Illinois Watch Company, officially founded in 1878, was highly respected for its quality and accuracy, particularly its reliable timing for railroads. The company has undergone several transitions over the years and remains active today, offering a select group of certified watchmakers and services. Star Watch Case Company was renowned for producing high-end watch cases and operated from 1987 – 1982 in Illinois and Michigan.
