Carved Burmese Jade and Diamond Pin by Birks

A striking mid-century pin by Birks, centered by a richly colored rectangular Burmese jade plaque carved and pierced with scrolling foliate designs. The vivid green jade is framed by sweeping curves of yellow gold, accented at either end with white gold leaves set with six single-cut diamonds.

Founded in Montreal in 1879, Birks became one of Canada’s foremost luxury jewelers, celebrated for fine craftsmanship and sophisticated designs that often reflected the leading international styles of their era. This signed example beautifully combines the firm’s refined workmanship with the rich color and intricate carving of Burmese jade.
