English Eighteenth Century Needlework Firescreen

This beautiful English needlework firescreen dates back to the mid-eighteenth century. Central to the screen, a large garden urn holds a bouquet of colorful flowers. The urn sits beneath a latticework arbor with grapevines intertwined. Finally, earth tone colors provide a backdrop to the colorful flowers and leaves.

A carved mahogany frame surrounds the needlework. Additionally, a finely carved mahogany tripod base with claw feet connects to the frame.

It is amazing to think that this lovely work of art has survived so well for over 250 years.
