English Rare George IV Sterling Silver Tantalus

A beautiful English sterling silver tantalus stand with three jars. Crafted with the clean and elegant lines of the Regency period dating to George IV. Hallmarked for William Bateman of the esteemed Bateman family of English silversmiths. Presented on a raised base supported on three pretty floral and leaf-decorated feet and finished with fine gadrooning. The center handle is also embellished with the floral and leaf motif above a finely reeded shaft.  Three jars are securely fitted within banded silver partitions. Elegant antique tablewares such as this lovely set are wonderfully chic and practical.
