French Compendium Desk Clock & Barometer
Combining elegant design with practical function, this French desk compendium combines an eight-day clock and an aneroid barometer in matching oval gilt brass cases, joined by a finely turned central post and raised on a polished marble base.
The clock is fitted with an eight-day movement featuring a jeweled cylinder escapement and displays the time on a white porcelain Roman numeral dial signed A. Lambra, Salzburg. Opposite, the matching porcelain barometer dial is calibrated for changing weather conditions, creating a harmonious pairing that would have graced a fine desk, library, or mantel. Elegant in proportion and beautifully preserved, it is an appealing example of a form that blends scientific instrumentation with decorative art.
This clock and barometer bear a complete restoration and a one-year warranty.
