French Onyx and Champlevé Enamel Clock Garniture

This neoclassical style clock garniture exudes the elegance and style of the late Victorian era. In a lovely blend of practicality and ornamentation, the set comprises a Greco-Roman styled crystal regulator and urns. All are beautifully presented in onyx accented with colorful champlevé enamel on a sky blue ground, and gilt trim. The clock is presented in an architectural case with canted corners, beveled glass panels, plinth base, and raised on toupie feet. The urns of conforming design elements also feature elaborate gilt handles.

Keeping the time is an 8-day key-wind movement that strikes a tuned gong at the hour and half-hour. The time displays on a hand-painted porcelain dial with Arabic numerals, floral swag embellishment and pierced gilt hands. The dial is signed A La Renaissance and 47,49 Bd. St. Martin, Paris.
