German Wall Regulator in Walnut with Ebony Trim

Elegant in form and finely crafted in detail, this late 19th-century German wall regulator exemplifies the precision and artistry of the period.

The case, fashioned from rich walnut with contrasting ebony trim, displays an architectural pediment and a pair of turned side columns. Behind the glass door rests a porcelain dial with Roman numerals, paired with pierced steel hands and framed by a polished brass bezel. The clock is powered by an 8-day movement that strikes the hours and half-hours on a gong, providing both accuracy and charm in daily use.

Its gridiron pendulum, fitted with a porcelain “R-A” temperature-compensating bob, adds a technical elegance to the composition and helps maintain accurate timekeeping across changing temperatures.

A superb example of late Victorian horology, this refined small wall regulator marries elegance and engineering in harmony.
