Hamilton Model 22 Deck Watch Chronometer In Original Box

Known as one of the finest American military navigational timepieces, this Hamilton Model 22 deck watch chronometer was designed and produced specifically for the U. S. Navy Bureau of Ships during WWII. Hamilton Watch Company has a rich heritage of quality and timing accuracy in the U.S., beginning with the advent of the railroads and continuing as a preeminent supplier to the military, from whom it received five distinguished Army-Navy awards for excellence. During WWII, Hamilton ceased consumer production and manufactured only for military efforts, making this deck watch a chronometer that was a part of that historical effort.

This Model 22 features a base-metal case from the Keystone Case Company, measuring approximately 70mm across. Within a 21-jewel movement, temperature-compensated and adjusted to 6 positions, allows for exceptional precision under varying conditions at sea. The time displays on a painted dial with Arabic numerals, subsidiary up-down and seconds dials, and spade and whip hands. Signed on the dial and the movement, which specifically indicates production for U.S. NAVY -BU. SHIPS-1942.

Housed in its original mahogany inner and outer boxes, this Hamilton navigational timepiece is in excellent condition overall.

Further, this watch carries a restoration and an 18-month warranty.
