Miniature German Open Well Wall Clock by Hamburg
This German wall clock dates to the late 180s amd brings a surprising amount of architectural detail to its 28-inch height. A tall ebonized finial rises above the broken arch crest, while carved borders and small geometric accents frame the dial. The walnut case continues below in a glazed open well, finished with turned spindles, additional finials, and a shaped pendant at the base.
The hand-painted porcelain dial has Roman numerals and a brass center, giving the clock a bright focal point amid the darker trim. Its eight-day movement strikes a gong on both the hour and half-hour. Compact enough for a smaller wall, the clock still has the ornament and character of a much larger example.
