Oval Black Forest Hand Carved Box
This exceptional piece from the renowned Black Forest region of Germany comes in the form of an oval box and dates to the late 19th century. It showcases the expert craftsmanship and mesmerizing wood carving skills unique to the area. Crafted from walnut with a hinged lid and in excellent overall condition. The wood has aged to a lovely, rich patina. Deep relief and three-dimensional carvings throughout portray a fabulous display of woodland flora, especially the flower that crowns the lid. Raised on outstretched scroll feet.
